Two lives and families are in ruins because of playing with the firearm, and ignoring the very basic safety rules.
I spent 2 years at Malmstrom in the early 90’s. Not sure how it’s broke down as squadrons were assigned and moved but we had a Security Forces Group (341st SFG) comprised snot 4 squadrons that handled nuke security with around 1,100 troops. then a separate Security Police Squadron that did base LE
So unfortunately with that many triops we had incidents where we
Lost about a troop every 4-6 weeks from suicide, vehicle accidents and such. But never had a gun play incident while I was there.

"playing with his gun"...????
at what point and time, does an alleged adult (since at 25 yrs of age, he was old enough to be in the military), stop playing with guns...??
i feel nuffin' for him.
as for the dead airman, did he see the fool playing with his gun, and say anything..??
did he try to get out of there..???
were they the only 2 people there..??
1 dead due to a flucking fool.
i hope he gets nailed to the cross for his stupidity
