Anyone do minimalist camping?

I am not going with just the clothes on my back. I do have a pack with the basic necessities. Also, I am not a new camper by any means. Have spent countless days in the "wild" in all 4 seasons. I do have a well thought out backpack that will be refined as I go.

Water filtration, purification- check

Basic sleeping needs- check

Basic pot, pan kit- check

Means to start a fire- check

Firearm(s) protection- check

IFAK- check

I'm not taking this lightly nor going at it half cocked. I guess I should have been more clear.

I thank all that have made suggestions and voiced concerns. I am more than open to anything that leads to better results.

When my sons were young, I spent 12 years as a Boy Scout leader. I've thrown a poncho down in an open field and called that home. Went camping every month all year long regardless of weather. Spent many weekends with just what was strapped to my back.

You might wanna seriously rethink that. Its much harder than most people think. Odds are you'll end up very hungry and thirsty. Maybe something much worse. :rolleyes:
Nope, do it all the time. I have 3 different ways to filter water besides boiling. I always have a suppressed 22lr on me and that takes care of food. Squirrels and rabbits are easy game if you know how to be a Woodsman. I have made it 17 days with only my backpack, no food or water except what I procured in nature. I could have went more but ran out of pto.

My apologies to all;

Minimalist camping in my world is no room service. My scooter is my legs now and I don't want to have to walk to the restaurant that may be on the property.

Now, back in my younger days...
