Are you eligible for a second stimulus check? These are the income limits

McConnell has already scheduled 12/29/20 when the Senate reconvenes to schedule a vote to override if Trump does veto the bill. Supposedly they have enough to override the veto if the House has already voted to override it on 12/28.

Trump can do a Pocket veto, in which he'll sit on it and force them to come back and own whatever they shove through.

Trump doesn't want his name on a veto and that crappy bill.

They want to give money to Venezuela so that when they ram Socialism down our throats, they can point there and say "see? See how well it works??"

Every last one of them should be fired, and run out of town on a rail. This is disgusting. Good on President Trump for speaking out - lets hope he follows through. I'd rather forfeit my $600 crumb, if it means not sending OUR money overseas to other countries for no reason.

We have enough problems HERE to solve; why are we sending resources overseas??

For all that foreign aid that was thrown into the Covid Relief Bill, once again the cruise industry was shut out. While the cruise lines and their ships are registered in foreign countries (NCL Pride of America is the exception) the cruise industry still supports the livelihood of over 421,000 Americans. Also, all of the major cruise lines have headquarters in the U.S.

For those who don’t know, the cruise lines have been shut down for over 9 months and they have been bleeding money like it’s coming out of a major artery. I think it’s amazing how these cruise lines have been able to stay afloat so to speak.

Even though cruise ships have suspended passenger service, they are still maintaining minimal operations to keep the ships safe and properly functional. This includes retaining a skeleton crew and regularly inspecting engines, air circulation systems, plumbing, and other critical services on board.

I was OK with them being shut out in the first go round of stimulus checks but this time I think some of that foreign aid should go directly to the cruise industry.

Stepping down from my soapbox, thank you for reading.

While I understand that particular industry employs over 400k people...in reality, it is a 'luxury' industry. Airlines are for travel purposes; other industries supply materials and manufacturing to other industries; housing; food service; groceries; etc. are all necessities for daily life in the USA.

I agree we need to support OUR citizens before we support foreign nations, but it's a slippery slope with something that is purely for luxury. That's a tough call. Add to that the fact that any of those people could easily transition into another field - foodservice, engineering, mechanics, housekeeping, etc - and it gets even more difficult to allocate government money to support the industry in a time like this.

I have a day job, in Automotive. That, has continued to operate through all this (transportation is "essential"). If it had been shut down, I'd have polished the resume and started looking - I don't want a handout, I want to be productive.

I own a pro audio company, and handle musical production for weddings, fairs, parties, bars, breweries, and wineries. That business has been completely shut down, I haven't done a gig since February. I am fully aware that industry is purely for entertainment - a "luxury" with no real redeeming qualities other than "fun" - and I don't expect a dime from the government for it. I'm not the Kennedy Center - I don't have lobbyists begging for money on my behalf. Does it suck that I'm not getting any income from it? Yep. Do I expect other people to bail me out? Nope. If I need more money...again, I polish the resume, and go hunting.

I've seen the argument made that the pork is sequestered to the other parts of the Omnibus Spending Bill. and therefore not part of the Covid Relief bill. Money is always fungible, everything comes from the same pot, and cash here affects the cash there. Just an accounting shell game. I'm over the limit if I were single, but as a married couple we both wil get them

Anyone of those in congress who votes for this POS should be hauled out on a rail. At 5,000 pages we know not one of them has read it through to know what's in it ...... most don't care. Seems to be almost another like another time where we were told "We'll just have to vote on it to know what's in it!" These worthless POS's in themselves are the most worthless, pointless, individuals I've ever seen. I've never seen, nor even heard of a more worthless congress than these of the past two administrations.

They should reserve their 'politic playing' for their campaigns, but once elected to office they should tend to the people's business. They've had weeks, if not months to reconcile gov funding so as to not be in this time crunch, and none of the add on's should be allowed unless they are directly related to the Covid relief.

As an aside, in my opinion ..... gov't funding (keeping the gov't open) should never be allowed as an amendment, attachment, nor any kind of rider to any other bill introduced in congress. It should always be a 'stand alone' vote and every single representative should be REQUIRED by law to explain their vote, or their cowardly vote of 'Present' to their constituents.

That would eliminate all the dollars for studying gender in some foreign country, shrimp on treadmills, Kennedy Center, Smithsonian, Public Broadcasting, etc, and on and on and on. These senseless funding initiatives may or may not be worthwhile in the long run, but not at the expense of Americans who are truly hurting, and driving the American debt into more and more trillions of dollars. Folks, that Trillions ..... with a 'T'. Foreign aid for anything except humanitarian issues should never be cause for nor paid for with more American debt. And to approve a measly $600 to the hard working Americans who are footing this bill for such nonsense is purely and absolutely insulting. Even when all the virus hoopla is over and done with, there will be literally thousands and thousands of small businesses ruined and broke. Businesses that American citizens have spent most or all of their adult life working for and building.

Good god, this whole situation is sheer madness and asininity. No one in their right mind can justify this insanity.

I truly hope the POTUS vetoes this atrocity and it later falls into the lap of the next administration for them to answer for.
