Ukraine sinks another Ruskkie ship.

"Glory to Ukraine!" Slava Ukraini!

It's amazing how inept the Russians are shooting down their own aircraft, sinking their own ships & blowing up all their own armored vehicles.

It's sad the Russian people have to put up with all that BS.

HESH is not new but is effective against certain targets. This is the same thing as our HEP rounds. They were meant for soft targets and bunkers. The IDF used a lot of HEP in their long range gunnery duels against Syrian forces prior to the '73 war against Syrian construction equipment, bunkers , etc. The advantage is the round is slower than HEAT or sabot and crews can better spot the impact of the round to make adjustments. As the author mentions, spall is an effective way to knock out older tanks and light armored vehicles. A shard of metal the size of a dinner plate flying around the turret makes for a bad day. For a long time, Abrams carried HEAT and Sabot. IMO it was extremely shortsighted to have not developed a canister round, HEP etc for the 120mm. Eventually I think we did but it was pretty lame that the old 105mm had/has more varied capability than the 120mm. Also, if memory serves, the British Challengers carry sabot and HESH/HEP.
