i got all of you beat...
i remember when Moses was on the cereal boxes holding the 10 Commandments Tablets....
i don't recall any thing about records, my wife used to do all the grocery shopping for the house, all i saw was my wallet open up and get emptied out.
as for party phone lines, YES, i remember that......i used to scream at the morons to the the F off...
i remember getting a private line rather quickly too, some time later

OK for you guy who remember toys in the cereal box, did you have to wait until you ate down to the toy, or would mom let you dump out the cereal to get the toy?

Honey nut Cheerios and Saturday morning cartoons, FTW! 
In my house I was the only one (supposedly) to eat the prize cereal. After the box had been opened I would wait for the opportunity and then dig out the prize. Couldn't dump it mom was quick. However I do remember on more than one occasion Tony the Tiger disappearing quicker than I had anticipated

Fun Fact:
After high school graduation, I ventured over to the bay area & played a real live operator in '78. It was interesting. After a few years of that I had to move back to the great state of Nevada so I could get back to shooting jackrabbits with 110 grain hollow points w/ my -06.

It still works and is fun to use. No problem dialing the operator either.Hi,
I remember records on ceral boxes and party lines. To call someone in town you need dial only the last 4 digits on your rotary phone.
When was the last time you dialed "0" for the operator?
