Hello all, here is today's article posted on TheArmoryLife.com. It is titled “Bridget Stalked on the Trail” and can be found at https://www.thearmorylife.com/bridget-stalked-on-the-trail/.

Main reason we are armed in the city or in the woods described in this article![]()
Back when I was healthy, I used to do a lot of hiking in State Parks. I've run across a lot of people on the trails. Most are quite friendly, exchange hellos and maybe even chat for a minute or two. But I have run a cross folks who immediately set you on edge. Something about the way they looked or moved just didn't seem right. For these I'll just step off the trail, let them pass and wait a minute or two for them to move on. When hiking, I was always armed.![]()
Nothing wrong with being alone. Just be aware of the risks vs rewards is all. Be aware of your surroundingsI remember an old saying I heard If you wouldn't do it without a gun, don't do it with a gun.
The number one rule of wilderness safety is don't go alone. I'm guessing the number two rule of wilderness safety is probably don't go alone in the dark.
The entire incident would have likely been avoided had she been with someone else.
