If your gun is brand new it shouldn’t be an issue however I advise against shooting “just” +P through it constantly. Now that ammo is extremely hard to find I have come across +P in 9mm. Just want to make sure my weapon can safely use this ammo. Can anyone help? Is there a web page at Springfield Armory that might list serial number ranges that are safe to use +P ammo in 9MM or 40?
Thank you! I purchased the weapons in the last 15 years or so both new out of the box.If your gun is brand new it shouldn’t be an issue however I advise against shooting “just” +P through it constantly.
Did you say years???Thank you! I purchased the weapons in the last 15 years or so both new out of the box.
I purchased the weapons new in the last 15 years so good to know!Yes, it can. +P will wear your parts faster but unless you’re a competition shooter it’s not going to matter except for a few cheap/easy parts.
Yes... years.... Is there a date that we should all know about to help determine when Springfield started making the pistols safe to use the +P amao?Did you say years???
Honestly I don’t know. They haven’t changed model numbers or anything (except gen 2) so I would think it’s ok but a quick call to Springfield customer service should clear it up.Yes... years....
