Carrying Concealed: Are Old Fanny Packs The New Trend?

Been stuffing kuna in an old jansport looking backpack when going to range. Might upgrade 👍
Be sure of the OAL. Right now 5.11 has a 29" "rifle" pack on sale pretty cheap. I wanna say it's like $50 or so. I don't know how long the Kuna is, but my 10.5" AR pistol barely fits in the sling pack I have. I went that way because it isn't super obvious there is a gun inside, where the rifle pack is a little more obvious.

I think it's this one.

Hmmm never thought of that, will have to give it a try.
Well you can have a pile of shell cards ( and I do), but unless you have a rig where you can store about 40 of them in a way that's easily accessible, it's kinda difficult to run say 500 rounds through your Beretta as quickly as possible. You may ask why a guy would want to run 500 rounds through a Beretta as quickly as possible. And I guess I don't really have an answer other than why not ? I was bored and there's only so many things you can do when you typically spend a day or two a week shooting shotguns for like 40 years. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I have given fanny packs to several female friends and family for their pistol who go jogging along public streets. I always used one when riding my bicycle. I often used one for duty when a cover garment was not practical. A convenient place for gun, magazines, cuffs, OC spray, or ASP.
And when an active LEO flying armed, it was for me the best way for carrying while sitting in airline seats. Of course I also often wore those storied "shoot me first" vests when not in a suit. All of that is urban legend nonsense in my opinion, in more than 50 years I never had anyone try to shoot me or anyone I know of because they were wearing a fanny pack or vest. Like I have said before, they have their place.

Why would you want to run 500 rounds through a beretta? 😁
Well, here's one reason. I clean my guns after I shoot them. I wanted to see the 1301 go through a hell of a lot of shells without being cleaned. I knew if I took it home it was going to get cleaned. And if I'm being totally honest I had just watched that lawyer dude and his buddy run 800 rounds through the (then) new Mossberg JM Pro or whatever it is before it started acting up. So I actually ran about 900 through it.

Kuna-matata is <16. Thanks for link will check it out

I still have a gun fanny pack, but rarely use it. We have some local parks which are quite large and have long wooded trails. I used it for hiking in those. The problem is that when you get any weight in them (gun, ammo) they tend to shift, bounce and move all over the place as you walk. Frankly, its more trouble than its worth. I find a good OWB holster works much better.

Another article on Fanny packs for CCW, I have used one in the past, so let’s beat the dead horse again on this subject……😬😬

Never used a fanny pack. As a photojournalist wore a multi-pocket vest that was great for concealing a j-frame revolver. Forgot to add always had at least one camera around my neck while wearing the vest. When not wearing the vest I kept the little Smith in my camera bag.

Hi,

Have you guys ever noticed this pouch thing that's carried on your belt?

Just a thought. I think I'd rather have one of these than a fanny pack, especially after seeing my pictures from the 90s. Whatta dork! :ROFLMAO:

Thank you for your indulgence,
