Civilians Now Own Almost 6 Million Suppressors and What That Means for the NFA is Glorious

The number of legally registered firearm suppressors in the United States is now approaching 5.7 million, according to the latest federal data obtained by the American Suppressor Association. That figure represents a dramatic increase over the past decade, and it raises a fundamental legal question:

At what point does a heavily regulated item become so widely owned that the law restricting it can no longer stand? For suppressors, that point may already have been reached.

As I’ve said before, I’ll buy a suppressor for a 22 pistol someday when I can walk into a store and take one off the peg, pay for it and walk out. I’ve always thought they should be no different than buying a spare magazine or any other accessory.

We are seeing same day approval but not buying it because you have to wait a few days only deprives you. Maybe its worth the effort?

Actually, the effect will be the other way around.

If 5.7 million people have gone thru the Process , that's a sign that the Process is Not Excessively burdensome , and thus does Not need changing .
