Critters out here

You name the critter and we got 'em out here on the ranch. Owls, hawks, eagles, osprey, cattle egret, foxes, coyotes, deer, rabbits, squirrels, turkeys, quail, hogs, bobcats, black bears, the occasional rare panther, and a plethora of snakes, other birds, and various creepy crawlies. My favorite are a pair of hawks that show up every year to hatch and noisily raise a baby. Here is this year's baby Coopers Hawk, fishing and frogging on the small pond.

same for our property minus the Ospreys and Bears.
we do get the Crested Caracara Eagle from Mexico onto the property during migration. Pretty cool looking eagle.

I was sure that I lived in Tucson! 😂

Our biggest issue is that animals can't always find water and food. They tend to go shopping with their noses and they can find dog food better than dogs...

During the spring the visits are going up because of the drought. Plus many of the animals use the dry rivers and washes as their own network.

This is the neighbor that comes to my dog's splash pad to bathe, cool off and drink...

Watched this Osprey snatch a fish from the golf course pond and land on the light pole. Eagles and Osprey are becoming more plentiful in the last 10yrs. It's awesome to watch these large birds fold up and fall out of the sky to fish. We have several pairs that build nests and raise their young here in central Illinois, something that didn't happen much in years past.

Well, about a month ago a bald eagle made the decision to not taste me.
Seriously.
Neighbor has a tree in his yard, it was real crappy out and there was a Bald Eagle that set there. (Unbeknownst to me)
I came bumbling out of my trailer home heading to the shed to get some brass i was working on.
Bam this thing, a juvenile I think, took flight looked like it might swoop, then passed me over.

I live in the treeless non beautiful part of WY.
