Concur... as an aside, it’s funny how these things wax & wane. I seem to recall reading something once about 40 yr cycles (roughly) that seem to impact certain businesses...
Has to do with innovation vs resting on laurels too long, next generation if buyers that don’t know the Co’s historical impact, etc etc blah blah.
 
CZ Already makes some of the most accurate guns: Shadows and TSO's. Dan Wesson is one of the best non custom makers of 1911's. So I don't see a down side of them acquiring Colt except for another Major gun name fading away. On the other hand if CZ can keep Colt relevant and even improve their quality. . . .

Colt is not gone. CZ won't do away with the brand like they didn't do away with DW.

Positive move to provide better management and direction of Colt.

Agree on the need to move production out to a more 2A friendly area.

If CZ/Colt focuses on bringing back the revolver line they'll sell every they produce.

Would like to see the Diamondback line come back.
 
It's a loophole.

Politics.

The US Government can harass, tax, fine, and challenge US firearms manufacturers. They haven't figured out how to "take our guns", so they're doing everything they can at the supply end of the chain to keep the market from being fed.

The US Government has FAR less ability to do harm, to a foreign entity such as CZ.

Colt will still produce firearms...but will be far less susceptible to government interference because it will be under the CZ umbrella.

Colt, the American iconic firearms manufacturer, IS gone. It was replaced by Colt the Czech firearms manufacturer. I'm not postulating on the effect it has on their management or the quality of their product. Simply that an Iconic American company is gone. It's like Smithfield. There's nothing wrong with Smithfield chicken. It's raised and harvested here in the US. Smithfield is no longer an American company though. They are Chinese.
