Recently called a business phone number and heard the following:

"If you are calling from a touch-tone phone, press one, now. If you are calling from a rotary phone, hang up and call from a touch-tone phone."

Lol. We still have a rotary phone in the shop. Of course we no longer have a land line. Ma Bell didn't think it was feasible to upgrade several miles of line & equipment just for us. When it rained the phone would ring nonstop till everything dried out. Such a high pitch squall you couldn't even use it.

An old buddy has a landline in his kitchen as well as his smart phone. I call him on the landline just to make him get up and hurry over to answer it.
