I remember years ago in Dade County Fl. there was and still is a small regional airport.
When it was built there were only strawberry fields all around the airport and they moved the original airport that was brought by Dade county for FIU college to it's present location. They greatly expanded the new airport.
Years later they started to build houses all around the airport and of course many people complained at the noise and wanted the airport to shut down or move.
After years of court battles, the court stated: The airport was here many years before the first house was built, so if the airport noise is a problem for you, why did you buy the house? Case dismissed.

I doubt I would see Dade as it was in the 60's -- Palmetto High, "we're the class that's really revin' -- senior class of '67"

I had a friend who was native born and was in high school then and when Miami was fully open to every cuban as once they touch US soil, (thanks for Kennedy Sr. law) they are and still are fully allowed to stay with special benefits.
He stated, at the start there was a small amount of cubans in his school who did not speak English and only stayed in the back of the classroom as they would be able to speak Spanglish (not Spanish) to each other.
In a short time with never ending cubans arriving they soon began the majority and legally considered as minority is down as per whole USA and not Dade County of which cubans are the overwhelming majority and until recently voted DemonCrap. They too do not want fully open borders for all and now have changed to Republicans.
I did have many latin friends when I too lived in dade county.
Nope, nothing is related to when you went to High School then.
