Daffy Zone…..

Crown Vics were made by Ford. That says it all:

Found

Dead...
First On Race Day.

Ford is the ONLY American manufacturer to win the World Championship of Makes. STILL. They won LeMans for four years in a row. They powered over 300 F1 wins.

Everybody else can drive their little unibody front-wheel drive station wagons.. like the rav4 that totalled itself on the rear bumper of my wife's Crown Vic and the rav4 pissed coolant all over the road.

Ford: She drove it away. It got the bumper fixed a few months later. And it didn't catch fire

Well there's a basic law of physics at work here. Smaller lighter 'economy' cars cannot withstand the greater mass of full-size sedans. Full-size sedans get crunched by 18-wheelers, and everything gets wrecked when hit by a freight train!

There was a time when Crown Vics had a metal tab on the underbody near the gas tank. If rear ended hard enough, the metal tab could poke a hole in the gas tank and cause a fire. I don't know if I would call it an explosion. Being rear ended on a traffic stop was and still is a rear problem for police vehicles. Several officers at mt department went out on disability due to being hit from the rear. I favor SUV's or trucks for police because the energy tends to go under the vehicle but still can kill you. Move Over Laws grew out of cruisers and officers being hit a scenes, but I still see Adam Henry's blowing past with little regard.
Does it count if my B&W was a Matador or a Montego? 70 Montego would have been great as a CHP vehicle, but a no-go on city streets. Matador 71-74…71 was great, but they got progressively worse each year. Crashed a 72 but survived!

Why all the hate for Crown Vics? They were the best patrol cars LEO ever had. Reliable, rugged, strong, comfortable and with a good ride. Big enough for all your gear or back seat "passengers". It was "THE" standard cop car all around the country.
Heck, my wife drove a Grand Marquis, which was just the Mercury version. She loved it and I felt she was safe.
Over my 25 years working for the city, I saw a lot of them get wrecked. Never once did one catch fire and rarely was an officer seriously injured.
I'll tell ya, a lot of cops and mechanics cried when Ford discontinued them. 😞

F*cked Over Rebuild Dodge
Forged Out of Recycled Dumpsters
F*cked On Raw Deal
Fast Only Running Downhill
Fickle Old Road Disaster

Just for fun: FIAT = Fix It Again, Tony

But in fairness to Ford, did you know that a staggering 98% of Fords produced over the last 40 years are STILL on the road today? True story! (the remaining 2% actually made it home 😂 )
