Yes indeed. I had a '71 Coupe Deville hardtop, a '69 Coupe Deville ragtop ( both with 500s) and a '67 Sedan Deville. They were nothing off the line but if you nailed it doing 55 you'd be doing 120 in a couple seconds. Had enough trunk space to hide 10 undocumented migrants.
I like Les Claypool's version of that song.If you've heard the song Hot Rod Lincoln, this is the true story of my dad, except my dad didn't get caught and as soon as he got out of the military, he joined the police dept. & ended up the driver of a '68 Dodge Charger interceptor that could easily do 160 but needed special brake pads that could slow the car rapidly without wearing out in a single application of the brakes...
Moral of the story? Don't try to beat the police; no one can outrun a police radio. Join the police!!
But if you hit something, the hood went thru the car like butter and came out the back with a few headsYes indeed. Like hell hide 10! You can pack at least 20!Had enough trunk space to hide 10 undocumented migrants.
You betcha, and they're really easy to 'pull the wool over their eyes' too!
Unfortunately I had for a very short time a 1959 Buick LaSabre 4 door hardtop. It was almost as big as your Caddy, and twice as ugly!!!Yes indeed. The Coupes were 21 & 22 feet long if memory serves. Dual climate control and would comfortably seat 6 or 7 people. The '71 was flawless. White with black interior. I had rear firing 10" subs in the trunk along with 3 150 watt Alpine amps, Blaupunkt 6x9s in the rear window, Blaupunkt 6" speakers in all 4 doors and JVC hard domed super tweeters hidden in the air ducts. And the fins.Unfortunately I had for a very short time a 1959 Buick LaSabre 4 door hardtop. It was almost as big as your Caddy, and twice as ugly!!!
