Daffy Zone…..

I'm so old I actually remember pumping that gas and washing the windshields.... and checking the oil, and checking air in the tires, and most anything else I was asked to check. Not only old, but stupid enough to pump gas with a lighted cigarette hanging out of my mouth. Knock on wood, I survived even while leaning down real close to the gas filler on the '56 Chevy BellAir to try to see just how the fill line was run ... yeh, with that same cigarette hanging and gas fumes so strong I could see 'em. It's been said that God looks out for babies and fools and I'd been out of diapers for several years. How many remember where the gas fill pipe was on the '56 Chevy?
Below the tail light…at least on my 57 Bel Air!

Years ago when automatic transmissions came into the light the indicator on most was located on the steering column along with the shift arm. The indicator read as followed,N was for starting the car and car did not move. Next was a D for drive so you could get out on the road and cruise along without the need of shifting. Next came the letter L for pulling up a grade with a trailer with a load or going down a very steep grade. Now here is where the problem begins with some people. The letter R, as folks were out on the road and someone passed them they decided that they were going to show that old car that passed just what this new car could do so they pulled the shift lever into R and that's when everything came apart and there the car set motionless and that's how road rage was born
My 58 Rambler came with butane…years ahead of yours obviously!
