50s, they had both. Standard stations were blue, chevron were khaki. Same designs, just different colors, probably in different parts of the country.That picture seems a little odd though with a Chevron pump at a Standard Station. I've been around a long time but I don't remember those two ever being connected
Maybe, but that car is something out of the 70's, maybe early 80's. I pumped a lot gas from a Chevron station in the very late 50's and through most of the 60's, but don't remember ever seeing that combination. Different parts of the country might be the answer, but we had both in my time as I recall. Ooops, I just went and did a little googling and you're absolutely right. Standard stations were known to offer Chevron products in the 50's+, and in the 80's decided to do away with the combo and went to either Chevron or Standard.
