dang credit card fraud jerks...!!

I know a couple years ago I posted about fraudulent charges several times every year. Still happens, now less than 5 years ago (for me), but the last occurrence was 2 months ago....$700 by Ticketmaster for a concert in CA by an artist I never heard of. I called my bank, card cancelled, new card issued. Interestingly, I called Ticketmaster to complain and they refunded my money in a day or 2, no hassle at all. In the 2-3 dozen (maybe more?) fraud instances I've been through, I've not had to pay a penny. Salute to the CC banks/CU's I've been using.

I’ve started using an identity validation service whenever possible—especially for any online transactions that require ID verification. It can help weed out potential fraud before it even starts, by verifying ID info right away and making sure it matches up with the user. It’s been a small but solid way to add an extra layer of security in case something slips through the usual checks.
 
I recently got screwed out of 84 bucks ordering vape parts via a guys PayPal account. Should have not went this route but was trying to purchase hard to find parts. Oh well, live and learn.

I won't do PayPal, venmo, or anything other than my CC-based debit/credit. Sorry to hear your loss.
 
Late last week I was notified by my bank that some scammer tried to charge $1625 to my debit card. There were four attempts in 10 minutes. Thankfully, none of the transactions went through.

But the hassle of changing payment methods at Amazon, streaming services, monthly services, etc... just sucks. Can't wait to start that process after the new card is received & activated.

Know what you mean had two debit cards compromised. Luckily my bank alerted me before transactions went through. No longer use my bank debit card for online purchases. Glad you didn't stuck with those charges.
