ok, just did...apparently there is a high population (39%) of Arabic residents.

however, a POLICE car and badge are (to me) universal....meaning, you always KNOW a cop car, or officer.

so no need to wear any extra badging

Well a few very strong opinions of what should happen here. Not saying I agree with it, or not, but it might be as simple as them recognizing who the people of thier jurisdiction are. Dearborn is considered to have the highest percentage of Arabic citizens in the country.

Perhaps in this age of poor police and "minorities" , which in this case are probably the majority, communication/trust they have made a attempt to build more trust.

Hard to say, they did not consult me, but perhaps trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, I would hesitate to condemn until I knew what went into the design. Having close ties to the LE community I do try to give them more trust in thier pursuits thsn done.

Just an opinion, let the outrage commence.

There is a certain ideology that screams "minority rights", until they are the majority. Then nobody has rights. Example? Pre- and post-1979 Iran.

My community is now 70% India.
The two high schools in my surrounding neighnorhoods are 75%+ India.
We dont put Punjab and India language and symbols on our schools, city symbols or patches.
Should San francisco have had Chinese on their patches for ChinaTown ?

Think areas of Brooklyn and maybe Yonkers that buildings and shops signs are in Hebrew. That was a surprise first time i worked up there. This was back in the naughty’s (early 2000) and haven’t been there in years so maybe changed

Dont believe i said otherwise, simply thst i might see what they might be trying, not if its right or wrong.
