Democratic Presidential Aspirant Has Big Gun Control Decision to Make

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has a major decision to make and it’s steeped in pure politics. He’s got a bill to consider that would ban striker-fired handguns – just like the one he was gifted by Shawn Ryan when he appeared on the Shawn Ryan Show podcast.

The governor prides himself on being the strongest gun control governor in the country and has never seen a policy to restrict Second Amendment rights that he didn’t love. Who can forget his ill-fated media ploy in 2023 to export California-style gun control to the rest of the country through the introduction of a 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution?

Hi,

After reading the article, Newsom must see that signing these bills, with the lawsuits that are bound to follow (which he should lose at the Supreme Court, if not sooner), would be political suicide for a presidential run. The last election should prove that.

Go after the criminals, not the guns of law abiding citizens.

Thank you for your indulgence,

One can only HOPE it would be political suicide….

I once thought that way, then Joe Biden was elected and the fecal show was off to the races.
The democrats will stand behind their nominee no matter who it is. Biden was pretty much unknown outside of his home state. He was the safe candidate.
The whole country is well aware of Newsom and how crazy he really is. I see him falling flat on his face in the Primaries and having to withdraw early. You watch, his fellow democratic hopefuls will turn on him with a vengeance. 😁

Like him or not Biden was elected to the Senate in the 70's and a VP for 8 yrs, I don't think he was unknown. Maybe shouldn't have been elected but I don't believe he was unknown which might make his election more surprising.
