DOJ considering Gun Control for Gender Dysphoria

Yea this will be interesting. It has been diagnosed as a mental illness for decades, then got sorta changed due to the new trendy virtueY push for "inclusion" or 'dont judge anyone' etc... The hard part for the legal folks will be drawing lines and definitions; for instance, Bulimia and Anorexia are types of body dysmorphic disorder also, so I can see that this could be hard to do.

As C.D. Warner tells us "Politics makes strange bedfellows" (no pun intended, well maybe just a little). This is nothing but a knee-jerk reaction and an expansion of "red flag laws". What's next, solders with PTSD? Maybe those we think should have PTSD? How about people with mild depression, eating disorder, Alcoholism, tobacco users, eyes too far apart, ears shaped wrong...? Phrenology anyone?

Exactly! I've been warning about this very thing for a while now. The "who decides?" concept is key.
 
We can all agree there are people who should never possess a firearm. Almost every mass shooter had some profound mental illness. Those who have been committed or adjudicated mentally ill are clearly prohibited. The tricky part is, where does one draw the line with mental illness? There will be a great foofraw over this issue but in the end in my opinion the courts will not allow firearm disability based solely upon gender identity to stand, even though gender dysphoria is a mental illness

you have to sign forms allowing the police dept to check your medical records, and most DO INCLUDE mental evaluations, if they were ever administered to you...

Well, I highly doubt they are going to go against their "protected class". They are injecting them into girls/womens sports. If they agree to this, they will alienate their base. If they go against this, they have just shown that they are not serious about stopping the "gun violence", that they are trying to ban all firearms. Either way they go, it will be political suicide for them.
