There is no better fighter on the planet for taking on barrages of incoming one-way attack drones and cruise missiles, at home or abroad.

We have the technology and the means to be best in class and always cutting edge.

Our politicians say otherwise and neuter our military

The hatch cover immediately behind the cockpit has popped open or been ripped apart. The compartment is open.

Those are actually louvers for the ECS (Environmental Control System - aka air conditioning). The shading of the pic makes it look like a door but if you zoom in (285%) to it you see the louvers. All F-15s have that right behind the canopy.

Confirmed here.

Took me awhile to find a cutaway that was readable to confirm that. #65

More F-15EX's on the way.

Note: Kuwait needs to buy the US three more EX's to compensate for their :poop:-head pilot shooting down three of our F-15E's.

I would posit that the A-10 is a runner up. Bigger cannon for bigger drones, although the F-15 Is probably better on cruise missiles.

A surprise plan to transfer Strike Eagles to the Reserves could be a preview of how a much larger F-15EX fleet will be assigned.

The first F-15EX Eagle II destined to Kadena Air Base, in Japan, has received the “ZZ” tail flash and the markings of the 18th Wing. The aircraft, 22-0022, has flown from Boeing’s facilities in St. Louis, Missouri, for the first time on Aug. 4, 2026, at the time only with the primer paint, before receiving its full livery and flying again on Aug. 15.

Notably, this F-15EX is also the first of the new Lot 3, whose deliveries are planned to begin later this year.

Meanwhile, Kadena is continuing the preparations to receive the new fighter jet. As part of the preparations, an F-15EX was deployed to Kadena in June 2026 to conduct integration and familiarization training with local units, following a first visit a year earlier.

The 67th Fighter Squadron will be Kadena’s first operational F-15EX unit, followed by the 44th Fighter Squadron. A total of 36 new fighters is expected to be delivered there starting next year, according to Air Force Secretary Troy Meink.
