'Fall back' time change potentially bad for health, experts say

I think much of the fall back thing is a safety thing that as to do with school-age kids standing at their bus stops during the morning in the dark.
I think that was the old way of justifying it.

Kids in my area walk/bus to school when it's barely light now, and did fine the last few weeks when it was darker before the change.

IMO it's an obsolete idea.

Is a good thought, but rarely works all over the country.
Many kids spend an hour or more riding in school buses on way to or from school and are normally picked up in the dark hours as well. Reflective gear, clothing and good lighting can help our kids too?

It originated as a transportation issue. Florida, as well as other states, has enacted legislation to extend DST year round, as is done in HI and AZ, but it has to be approved by the Secretary of Transportation. I guess he was busy with maternity leave this year so we are stuck with fall back for another cycle.
