Fritz Mann Model 1921 - A Truly Odd .25 ACP Pistol

Hmmm. Interesting gun, and writeup. Unless I misunderstood, it looks this gun lacks the mass of a reciprocating slide, but retains a much lighter bolt that chambers and extracts the rounds, and holds the striker. Eliminating that mass, with the ringed chamber's resistance, is pretty clever. Wonder, how strong is the recoil spring? It would have to be pretty strong,since there is no slide mass to contain the backthrust.
 
Neat little old school piece. Something a little more contemporary shown below. 7 rounds in .380.
