Raccoon, we don't say that down here. it's a friggin ****
Frisco Texas. Orig HS was the Frisco Fighting “c - - ns” . Frisco town symbol is a rendering of a raccoon skin stetched out . Seriously it is.

During football games the crowd would chant “go c - -n, go!”
Well, when modern PC and DEI came along, the town water tower with the c - - n got painted over and everything now is a raccoon.

I know nothing of gas masks, but wouldnt a commercial grade one that is used in the chemical industry be a quality one to purchase as a decent price for high grade comfort/material?
Not really. Military Protective Masks have electrostatic filters designed to handle chemical and biological weapons threats including fine particles from fallout. The older masks such as the M17 mentioned above, or the M25, which I wore, may be functional depending on the condition of the filters, but these filters have a limited shelf life under the best of conditions. Ironically, those older masks, even in tip-top shape were not designed to handle industrial hazards.

The only masks I've thought about getting are the kind for tear gas. No thoughts on chemical or biological kinds other than aforementioned. With current and by the time bought they become probably absolete for any new types of agents. I become more focused on water safety and/or food. Maybe because of where I live as it would be extremely difficult to void my water safety as we have our own supply. Fireproof matches, safe straws and other testing supplies for just in case.

You know the OP of this thread is thinkin, what a bunch of dipsticks.
And the OP would be right. That's what I love about this place! It's more like real conversation that flows along at its own pace and its own direction.
No gas mask for me. Or, body armor, trauma kit, spare guns, knives, shoestrings, etc. I got enough crap to think/worry about already, like what's for supper.
