Gatorade

About ten years ago i learned the hard way to drink something other than water. It was over 100 degrees and i worked all day from sunup to almost sundown cutting wood. i didn't have far to go as it was across the street but i cut, loaded and unloaded three truckloads of oak.

I bled sweat all day and drank plenty of water but that night after i had a bath and sit in the recliner i started cramping up, i mean felt like every muscle in my body was trying to cramp. i would move to try and get one out and another in a different place would hit. It was horrible. my wife went and got me some gatorade and i drank two big bottles of it. after a bit it eased up.

The two muscles inside the upper leg will bring tears to your eyes when they cramp. i never made that mistake again. i always drink water and gatorade. This new stuff is so weak i doubt it will work. I will try some of that stuff ya'll mentioned. i don't need the drinks with caffiene.
My wife listens to all the so called experts on how much water to drink and that put her in the ER.
Kidney doc said when you just drink water you pee out all your sodium and that could be fatal.
He said if you like water alternate between water and something else to replace your electrolytes.
That is why I drink fully Krausen water in twelve-ounce bottles.

Back in the mid-80s I got hit with heat exhaustion. I was weak as a kitten for 3 days. Couldn't go back to work for a week. I'll never do that again.
When I worked for the city, every crew truck had a water cooler mounted on the bed and there were several ice machines located around the city.
I remember when Gatorade came as a powder. When I was working with the Boy Scouts, in the summer we'd mix it up strong in those big 10 gal water coolers and have to refill them several times a day. I haven't seen the power mix in years.
At summer camp we'd set up a small kid's pool for the boys to cool off in.
I can't stress hydration enough. (y)
