Glock

I'm not sure what smith as calling compact on that model, but on the 2.0 its a 4" and it's the same as a 19 by .02".

Same gun they call the Sub Compact now
 
They don’t take M&P mags, but the Shield+ is definitely in the G26 size zone…but I get your point about mag commonality; it’s one thing that Glock did EXACTLY right.

I can see myself owning a Glock again someday…I’m really eyeballing the G28.
if I didn't have any handgun and I wanted to get one I would definitely consider a Shield Plus. It doesn't matter now that I'm retired but a Shield Plus plus with a 4-inch barrel would meet City requirements for a security guard to carry in Colorado Springs.

It would also be small enough to carry in the pocket of my uniform pants for "unarmed" assignments.

A Shield Plus would cover every base I need covered.

But since I already have handguns that cover those spaces now I have no reason to add a Shield Plus
