351 Cleveland was another good Ford motor.
Yes it would be the same as a Mustang. Just like the 390 or any other FE style engine , 352 , 360 , 390 , 406 , 427 , or the 428.428 ? They'll fit.
I've got a 428 and a Large Spline TopLoader 4-speed.
But I'd rather have a 427.
I don't how tight it'll be in a Fairlane, but in a Mustang it's almost impossibly tight. It's an all-day job to check sparkplugs. When they were new, in the shop the flat-rate was for 8.0 hrs.
Depends on what he wants it for and if stock configuration for collector's value is a consideration.
He's got the original engine, and if it's a daily driver a 302 will be fun. And simple.
While he's saving for the 428.
Is that a 390?Here’s my ‘66 much like a ‘65View attachment 121090
I agree. This is what powered the Detomaso Pantera. and that was a hot number!351 Cleveland was another good Ford motor.

When your motors are banned from racing due to their total dominance in both NASCAR and the NHRA drag racing, like Mopar was, I can see why you feel like that.Ford is the only manufacturer to win the World Championship of Manufacturers, four straight wins in the 24 hours of Lemans, and over 170 wins in F1, as opposed to a total of ZERO total wins in any of those world-class categories for GM or Stellantis:
Ford obviously stands for
First On Race Day.
Why can't people remember that ?
We'll just call GM and Mopars wannabes
yes, I have a 351M in my Ford truck351 Cleveland was another good Ford motor.
Ooops. I shoulda remembered that. When your motors are banned from racing due to their total dominance in both NASCAR and the NHRA drag racing, like Mopar was, I can see why you feel like that.
Very good !yes, I have a 351M in my Ford truck
To add to this information , the 426 hemi was dominate during the 1964 nascar races . It was banned because the engine wasn't available to the general public. The same reason fords 427 SOHC engine never got to be on the track. When your motors are banned from racing due to their total dominance in both NASCAR and the NHRA drag racing, like Mopar was, I can see why you feel like that.
Like that rule makes any sense today! Other than the paint and the nameplate, the silly things all look alike. To add to this information , the 426 hemi was dominate during the 1964 nascar races . This is what started the rule that at least 500 cars had to be built for the street.
