Got my insurance bill

I hear your pain HayesGreener. I was with USAA Insurance. Yeah right. Here for the Vet. After paying through several policy increases I sent my insurance out for pricing. Of all things-AAA saved me a ton. However I will say after they renewed the policy after a 6 month term the policy went up about 12%. It pays to not think you’re getting the best deal from the insurance company you’ve been dealing with for a long time. Get out there and get quotes.
I ditched USAA as well. As soon as they started insuring the enlisted, their rates went to hell. I went to Stillwater. Good rates so far and even better if you pay for the entire year up front.

My rates have shot up as well. I asked my agent at my last renewal why I needed uninsured motorist coverage when my state requires insurance for everyone.

Mine here in Ky just jumped 30% as well. Between tornadoes and flooding these last couple years there have been a slew of claims in the state.. insurance companies WILL recoup their losses-sadly though the premiums will never go back down as it just becomes an increase in their income during good years….

We are in the process of replacing our 25 year old roof. Our Farm Bureau agent promises our home insurance premiums will be cut by more than half with the new roof. We shall see

I'm with you. Life long member of USAA and I'm tired of the increases though they are more slick in doing it with smaller increments. I need to get serious about searching for someone else.

Good for you!

There’s not a carrier out there that anymore will cover a roof if it is more than 10 years old. And that’s where folks get stuck. When the storm hits, and your roof goes, then your interior and contents are soaked, the carrier is going to deny your claim. I see it all the time.

First question I ask of a homeowner who comes to meet with me about their storm damaged home is, “do you know the exclusions detailed in your policy?”

Ours has increased for all things that are insured. No accidents nor claims at all and when you call them they make up excuses like "market rates are going up". Thanks call center captain obvious for that brilliant gem of information.

Been with USAA since 1968. Never had a problem. You may save a few bucks elsewhere, but USAA has never balked on a claim (where I live in Utah, I seem to catch a rock every year or so. Last one was over $1500.). Service has always been great for me.
