Hi,
In this Daily Mail article there is a picture that sure looks like Foster had raised his rifle at the car Perry was driving.
Daniel Perry, a former US Army sergeant, was pardoned on Thursday by Texas Governor Greg Abbott over the July 2020 murder of BLM protestor Garrett Foster during a riot.

Personally, I would've stayed at home and been nowhere near any of those protests. Perry had dropped an Uber fare in Austin and made an unfortunate turn into the demonstration. The term "situational awareness" comes to mind.
Here's another, rather harsh, account of the event:
The governor didn’t offer much of a rationale in granting clemency to Daniel Perry, who killed a Black Lives Matter protester in 2020, but apparently the enemy of his enemy is his friend.

Both articles mention Perry's social media posts. Those certainly don't make him look like an angel. Several reports mention Perry running a red light and ending up in the crowd. I can see where I might try anything to get out of a situation like that. Too bad that just got him deeper into it. Again, "situational awareness". I might've been listening to the radio so that I could avoid the protest area. But, what do I know? I'm just the bass player.
I do pray that God would heal our land.
