Gun Stories

I
I strongly suspect that a huge % of those who preach “full size, hi capacity, extra mags” are not the folks who actually carry all day, everyday, year after year. I have one friend who carries a full size 1911 .45. Everybody else I know who actually carries all the time are packing something a lot smaller, lighter and easier to tote. J frames, various .380’s, a couple 938’s, a Hellion and a couple of original 365’s are what people I know actually carry. And my friends include a couple of police’s officers, one fed, and other just plain folks. Age group runs from 50-70’s

middle at 59 years old. I carry a 365 (original micro) with a Wilson X Macro Short grip. Brings round count up to 17 + 1 and you can get a full grip on the thing.
As a side note, I gets just as "stank" as the rest in Florida heat.

New episode of Gun Stories was on last night, thought it would be a good one since it was concerning concealed carry, first minutes were good, showing the Ruger LCP .380 then a J frame S&W, then Rob L. came on and talked about the Hellcat, then the show went down hill, some so called expert from Gunsite came on saying you don’t want to use a .380 for carry, then stated you also don’t want a 5 shot revolver, said unless your a cop and have backup, if you use a 5 shot revolver your on your own, my thoughts, what a total idiot, then after this old idiots crap, the host was saying about women buying and carrying more now, which I thought it was great, then he went DEI crap and had to say women of color, then after this the show was nothing but Sig……pathetic…..then you wonder why there isn’t any new gun shows on, last episode I’ll ever watch, been watching that show for years
i don't get that channel here..must be either an extra cost, or anti gun nannies keeping it out.

I recall back in the late 70's one of the prominent gun Wrighters of the day causing a bit of a stir stating, we all shoot, talk and brag about our 1911's but carry J frames & Seecamps.
Nihil sub sole novum
Fear sells, and what's more fearful than a swarm of zombie, methhead, 300lbs, bikers moonlighting as a ninja death squad?

I used to carry a “carry size” or medium sized P228, Hi-power or P320 IWB daily. Middle age set in and so did 30lbs of weight in the mid section. Until I lose the weight, those guns dig into my love handles sitting down. Real life sets in.😞🧐😬 They got relegated to my work backpack and the IWB is now a small size .380 IWB or it slips into my pocket where I prefer to carry it.

Sounds like I didn't miss a thing. In the race to conceal (think the plethora of micro compacts out there), I'm upsizing. Just moved from my long time Springfield XD Mod.2 subcompact to my new Springfield Echelon 4.0c Comp. Couldn't be happier. I'm still getting used to it a little, but it really wasn't as big of a jump as I expected.

Lately been carrying a DW 1911 Vigil light weight 45acp in a strong side OWB holster. Most always carry a J-frame in an ankle holster for back up. Have seven pistols with dot optics and feel well armed with any of them. I am partial to 45acp but from most accounts the gap between it and 9mm are minimal, not sure I believe it. Hopefully my new Sig P-220 Legion 45acp SAO with Romeo X Enclosed Pro green dot optic and I will get along . If so it will be my primary EDC pistol.

Sounds like what YouTube is now. Everyone is an expert and thinks their beliefs should be for everyone.

Yes I’m opinionated about the subject and have to remember that everyone should figure out what is good for them. I try to tell people that this is what I dealt with (like with my M&P M2.0 10MM) and go from there. Also go to a range and try it out for yourself or if you know someone that has it, bug them to shoot it.

One ☝️ last yips is I do carry the M&P M2.0 10MM along with the Glock G23 Gen5 comfortably.
