Help with Mod 3 Optic install

Negative. Got the plate but no screws. Looks like you use the screws that secured the cover on the gun. This is just another reason I hate optics. They want you to purchase one but no support to install. Thanks for your info.
Usually the screws that held on the iron sight plate are the same screws you use on the new RD plate then the RD sight comes with the proper screws to attach the RD to the plate.

I appreciate all your help but the more I look the worse it gets. It seems Springfield will sell you a plate for $25 but after that that's it. Nobody seems to know exactly what screws are to be used to mount the 507K on this gun. What a pain! Really wanted the optic thing to work but when you can't even get any info on how to mount it, well, that blows. I just heard from Holosun and they say I need custom screws! I give up. In the trash the sight goes!
Are you trying to mount the plate to the gun or the screws to the plate ? Your Holosun came with 2 sets of screws to mount the optic. The plate likely uses the screws that were holding the cover on the slide cut when you got the gun. It seems a lot more difficult than it is. You need the tap/thread, which will be metric, probably M3 or M4 and the length. You can literally go down to Lowes and buy them in a few lengths and when you get the right length you order those screws from McMaster Carr or somewhere.

That said, I very much prefer optics to mount directly to the slide.

$25.00 for the plate? Be glad it is not AOS plate for prodigy $129.00. Springfield-armory should be able to answer your questions. If not, reach out to @mreed911, I hear he is an expert on "How screws and bolts work", sorry, could not help myself.
$25 is cheap for a plate. Cheap enough that I would be suspicious of the quality. The plate for one of my VP9s was $50.

Prodigy uses same screws to hold optic plate to slide that holds iron site plate to slide. 6 x 48 x ?, I have about 20 used ones and 6 new ones. All sent to me by SA at no charge . they come loose quite often with or without loc tite. Yes I have a torque driver, yes I reduce torque by 5% when using loc tite. Getting through around 1500 rounds lately before they become loose. As comparison, over 9000 rounds on XC. optic just as tight as the day I installed it.

I’ll throw my 2 cents in and tell you to go ask a gun smith. Personally that might be your best answer than clubbing yourself over the head. It beats spending 175 bucks on getting the screws tapered out. Yes I learned the hard way with my 407 (i think) hitting me in my head.
I would love to but there is not a local gunsmith anymore here. I used to work for him and he closed the store down last November. Next one was in Ruidoso NM and they also closed down. I would really hate to dink it up and then have to send it out somewhere. This was a cheap gun to begin with. I will just put away optic and forget about it. If it comes to the time I need an optic to shoot I'll stop shooting.

Three screws to take off then install Springfield plate then 2 screws to install optic. I was needing screws for optic but will just leave it alone. Personally, I think this optic thing is a bunch of crap. Thats what sights on gun were made for.

Your screw is either an m3x8 or an m3x12 I showed two or three pictures the 8 to 12 and the 16 if anything if you get an M3 by 12 or 16 and it's too long you can always cut it down to make it fit the m3x8 will probably work I'm not 100% sure how long it has to be to go through your site but it is an M3 by 8 they go in my gun perfect

So I still shoot with both. I’ve been shooting with irons for at least 30 years. We carry them for work and they work but it took a lot of dry fire and pulling from a holster before I became proficient. There are tricks to the trade of picking them up quicker and how to use them. Just my .02 that they are nice once you get used to them.
