How did COVID change you?

What was worse COVID or your run of the mill pneumonia? The ultimate question that will be debated until the end of time is...was this country put through HELL for the sake of few who stepped in and dictated our every move. Was the vaccine proven to be...the begin all...and end all...that saved mankind.
Expect for those who unfortunately succumbed to this (unknown) virus we are still here. What did we all learn from this...really. What has been done to ensure this global viral attack will not ever rear its head in the future.

The ultimate question that be debated until the end of time will be...was this country put through HELL for the sake of few who stepped in and dictated our every move.
THAT my friend is the REAL question. The political AND self appointed Commissars. Teachers (and other) unions that jumped on the drum to make demands, and effected a generation of kids. Neighborhood busy bodies that became snitches worse than any home owners association. Social media "hall monitors" that blocked and banned any discussion that didnt fit their position.

I mean you NO disrespect. Your decisions are yours as long as they dont involve me. I ask the question because more than one person here and "in real life" has said that COVID changed them. I just wanted to know why/how.

I do remember those angry debates (if thats what you can call it) and I use those as a symbol of the loss of civility. Im not without this as well; but I do strive to do better
OK, by the numbers.

1. A very close friend of mine 1 year younger than me was killed by the vaccine. 6 hours after getting it to keep his job, he was dead. Severe reaction to the vaccine. And no recourse for his survivors. He was divorced but had a (then) 17-year-old son.
2. My own mother, who was in lock down in an assisted living home had such a bad reaction to shot #1 of that 2 shot vaccine, that doctors told her NOT to get the second shot, or any other ones that came out later. She nearly died because of that first shot.
3. My own wife was treated like a leper at her job because she had a valid medical reason and an excuse from her own doctor about not getting the vaccine. About 20 years ago, my wife had a flu shot. It turned out to be a bad batch contaminated with something. She developed a severe palsy from the bad batch. The tremors she has because of it are only controlled by medication. To this day, she still has to take medication for it. She was ordered by her doctor and specialists, to never get any vaccines anymore because it is unknown what might happen if she does. This included the COVID vaccine when it was released. Another story of no recourse because pharmaceutical companies are untouchable.
4. Myself. I was a federal employee and nearly lost my job because I refused to get the vaccination. Luckily, a federal judge with common sense ruled that the mandate for federal employees having to get the shot was ruled illegal just before the deadline. But even after that, those of us who didn't get the jab, had to go in for weekly testing and having our HIPAA rights constantly violated.

No, I'm not super happy about those days. I have plenty more examples, but I don't want to be the one who is blamed for this thread possibly being wiped out.

Thank you for your thoughts and reasoning

I will say that years before COVID, there was a case of a Nurse who was exposed to EBOLA while working in Afrika, who was allowed to return to the US based solely on her say so that she was not a carrier. I thought then and still today that at least a week of home isolation or a negative test seemed appropriated, especially as EBOLA is vastly more deadly and contagious

Bio weapons are the new A Bomb and they dont have to be man made, which is of course still in question regarding COVID

I lost a good friend to COVID.

There was so much BS flying around during and after COVID I don't know what believe. What I do know is Mrs Greener and I followed our physician daughter's advice and got the shots and never got sick. Some friends who didn't get the shot got it. But then we quarantined ourselves and avoided pretty much everybody.

I have been a firearms instructor for more than 50 years, with lots of instructor courses under my belt. Pre-COVID I had a pretty good retirement firearms training business going, training and re-qualifying security officers and private investigators for their Florida Class G license. We did a few CCW courses and some intermediate courses, but there was very little income in that. During COVID Security companies stopped sending students for the basic course and annual requals, and the state kept extending requal deadlines for 2 years. My students dried up. Then we went through a period where I couldn't buy ammo. I went from using about 22,000 rounds a year for about 8 years to nothing. Then ammo prices went through the roof, if you could get any. I had run about 850 students through my programs. The instructor training, licensing and insurance fees were exceeding the income so I sold all my training guns and closed a business that I really enjoyed. I never made any real money from it but made enough to buy a few personal guns and ammo I wanted when I broke even and had a lot of fun doing it. I still do a few courses for friends and family to stay curŕent but post COVID I am not jumping back in the business.

So now I build furniture and cabinets for friends and family and enjoy being retired. So that's my COVID story, I am sure there are many like it.

It made me dislike being around humans even more.as if PTSD didn't already have that effect on me. I met a Karen" in a uspo. I routinely used hand saitizer but refused to wear a stinking mask because potus two scoops and Adam Henry falsi demanded it. Th uspo had a EO covid sign posted, it was meant for uspo employees.

I'm waiting inline 6 ft away from guy in front when "Karen" walked in, and pointed to the sign and yelled loudly: "Can't you read the sign?" I responded as loud as I could "read my lips, mind your own FJB business." SHe had nothing else to say, so she got my message."

FWIW, I've had the ccp crud twice, nothing more than a week of sniffles. It still amazes me that that the annual flu disappeared during the plannedemic, but I got enough anti bodies in me to last a lifetime.

The topic of this thread is a slippery slope. Years ago, just before COVID, I was a member of this forum under a different account and username. At the height of COVID, this topic was a very touchy subject. I was in the minority at the time. I questioned how safe the vaccine was. I expressed my views on why I didn't want to get the vaccine and finally refused to get the vaccine. I'm not going to go into all the details, but I was treated like a pariah on this forum because of my views. A lot of those old forum members are still here. I remember the loudest ones. Even some of the Admin of this forum are considered untrustworthy by me because of things that happened back in those days. I left this forum in disgust, and had the Admins wipe out my old account. A few years went by, and curiosity got the best of me. I started looking back into this forum. Not as a member, just as an outsider (in case some of you don't realize this, anyone can read all the posts on this forum without being a member, you just can't post or interact). About a year and a half ago I rejoined this forum under a new account and username. I sure hope things don't go south like they did back in those days in the current forum. And I don't want to even begin to relive the things I had to go through in real life under the scamdemic.
I remember that time, got many PM’s about my posts, I too questioned the vaccine also, but had to get one to get my hernia surgery, I’ll leave it at that.

Just in full disclosure to any one that thinks I'm anti-vax.

In my entire life I've gotten the approve vaccines as a kid, as well I've gotten the annual flu shot as an adult. Plus I've gotten the full-range of the CDC-schedule for my various adult age-brackets.

But I won't go near a mNRA shot since the Covid experience, and a lot of research into that science since.

The flu diminished during the COVID crisis due to social distancing. Avoiding school children works wonders. Where COVID is concerned, I shudder to think what would have happened if us old people had not quarantined ourselves. I sometimes wonder, though, about prior or natural immunity. Several of us Vietnam vets who got a long list of shots pre deployment back in the day never got COVID.

I didn't get the shots. When they had to re classify vaccine meaning so the shots could be called vaccines , I decided I wasn't getting them.

I had covid , got over it and haven't had it since. I have been in the cab of a Ford Ranger pickup with 2 different people that had it and I didn't get it. That's good enough for me.

I wore mask everywhere i went, stopped going place i didn't need to. hand sanitized my hands every time i got back in the truck. i still got the crap in 2019. had 103 to 104 fever for about three weeks but then it went away. i did learn from it though, mask don't do a damn thing, hand sanitizer don't kill germs. i learned people and politicians will lie their *** off to make a buck. i could go on and on but i won't

I wore a mask one time the way you are supposed to wear them. I walked from my apartment to my vehicle and couldn't breath. Took the thing off and only wore one with my nose uncovered after that. Even when I went to Dr offices or the Hospital I didn't wear them correctly.

I'll also add this. It seems like it was only the US and a few other countries that freaked out about COVID. Just before COVID, my son was accepted into a college program that allowed him to go to college in Amsterdam, at the University of Amsterdam in The Netherlands. During his first year overseas, he flew home twice to visit. When COVID hit, it was over a year before he came back home to visit. When he did come home, COVID derangement syndrome was still going on in the US. He said it was like day and night between The Netherlands and the US over the scamdemic. It just wasn't a thing over there. I thought for sure he would have been mandated to get a "European" jab while over there. No such thing. In fact, during his school breaks, instead of coming back home to visit us in quarantine, he globetrotted all over Europe. He laughed at all the ridiculous rules we had to follow when he finally came home to visit. When he went back, he decided to stay over there longer and earn his master's degree. He thought it was comical how US colleges were handling COVID.

Ive been wanting to buy an armor face mask, because "how cool it that" and as a giant FU to the karens of the world. They run about $300+ so I decided to keep an old M17 gas mask (about $50) handy for those FU moments.

Retired from LGS because governor closed it down. When he reopened I stayed home. I got my shots and stayed home. I only went out to do errands when it was absolutely necessary. Maggie and I went for walks but stayed away from people. Being a Vietnam vet i'm not to fond of people and what they said about us so staying away wasn't a big thing. I still don't trust people. Still take my shots both flu and covid. If i'm going to die I want it to be from something else. Hate to pay all these stupid prices for everything! It makes me sick. Life did change dramatically and it will not get better. So much for the good ole days, just a memory now just like most of all my friends who passed away.

Made me disgusted with everyone.

Before Biden Admin. the reDUMBlicans were praising the vax, and DJT while the demoKKKrats were screaming that it wasn't safe, unnecessary. After Biden Admin. took over the demoKKKrats wanted to force it on everyone, NOT your body your choice, while the reDUMBlicans started talking about metal sticking to your arm because it made your blood magnetic. 😖:censored: A pox on all your houses!

Pre Covid-I was a true believer in vaccinations. My parents come from a generation that knew the horrors of Polio even had members of our extended family suffering from the effect of such. During Covid Pharma. (Whom I was half-hearted defender of.) kept making new and improved vax, for every variant that came down the pike, plus Vax. for younger and younger people to the point that it was for children under five that has statistically zero chance of lasting effects from covid if they did get it. But hey. Parma got a great big giant financial kiss from the Taxpayer, so everything is hunky dory, right?

NIH, CDC, WHO, ETC. Never had much faith in any of them, now I wouldn't trust the SOBs to give me the correct time of day. In fact if I found one of these people on fire all I would do is light a cigarette off them, blow smoke in their face and laugh.

Hospitals and doctors. Not everyone that had covid, died of covid. I.E. the fellow that got run over by a garbage truck but the hospital called it a covid death because he tested pos. for covid. Due to greed and stupid Gov. policies of cash payment, we will never know the true extent of covid.

YUP DIGUSTED THE EVERYONE!

Covid itself as a virus did not change me at all, although I tested positive 3 times (got a harsh cold 3 times). Over 50 and overweight for all of it, also type 1 diabetic (hence my getting scared into getting the shot.)

Got the Moderna covid shot (it's not a vaccine). Got the initial 2 shots, then 1 booster a year later. Developed tinnitus from the shot. Not debilitating, but annoying, none-the-less. 1 of the 3 covid positives for me was 27 days after the 3rd shot, and twice before then between the 2nd and 3rd shots.

I now distrust most medical professionals and I am now anti-vaccine, where I was not before covid.
