How did COVID change you?

There certainly seems to have been an economic enticement for the disease/cure. A (neighbor) young man's death in a motorcycle v auto accident was ruled a COVID related death. I cant say if either he or the diver of the car had COVID; but the cause of death sure seems more vehicular than virus. The motorcycle insurance company was still fighting paying last I heard. As a result his widow and child had to move because they couldnt pay for the house. I wouldnt be surprised if PD commanders didnt try to spin COVID numbers to blame crime stats

For the record, I am not anti-vaccination. As a child, I had all my vaccinations. As a Soldier and a Marine, I had all required vaccinations. As a commercial diver who traveled all over the world for jobs, I had the required vaccinations. And even post COVID, I had a tetanus vaccination when my head met a sharp object while on the job. I bled like a stuck pig. I was a civilian federal employee and had no problem with going to the naval medical clinic for the shot, since it had been over 10 years since my last tetanus shot. Before that, I have had COVID twice. The first time was not as bad as the flu but lasted longer. The second time I had it, I thought I had a bad cold and still went to work. Once I found out it had been COVID, it was too late. I didn't even report it because it would have been such a hassle. Still COVID vaccine free to this day. And I will stay that way.

Folks might not realize that when a "new" virus emerges is much more virulent (lethal) at first but as virus's mutate (hey always do) they become less so. That's the same course that Covid has taken as it's mutated.

Being a respiratory disease like flu, pneumonia, RSV, etc. (a being a retrovirus) getting the annual flu shot and the available pneumonia vaccines (on the CDC Schedule) can lessen the chances that any of the other can weaken you immune system to allow something more serious to take hold, especially for those that have co-mobilities.

Didn't change anything for me, I knew it was BS the first time Fauci spoke. I got covid twice, never lasted more than 3 days.
I have COPD. At the very beginning of Covid my Pulmonologist told me straight up, if you get it, it'll very likely kill you.
My mother had COPD as well got the same thing from her doctor, she caught COVID-19 before the vaccines were available, she survived just fine and was over it before the week was over. She asked me if she should get the vaccines when they came out and I told her absolutely not! You got it you survived, you now have natural immunity to it. Of course all the doctors told her I was full of it.
She ended up getting the shots, every time she got more shots within 2 weeks she had COVID and she got worse, more shots, health kept going down. I'm a firm believer that those shots ended up killing her.

I was in the minority at the time. I questioned how safe the vaccine was. I expressed my views on why I didn't want to get the vaccine and finally refused to get the vaccine.
Never got any of the shots, fought with my doctors over it. Funny my primary doctor now says, we were right to avoid the shots. They are now starting to see the ramifications of those shots on many folks. Seems to be many that have problems like @Talyn speaks of and the other issues are heart valve issues (this killed my mother) now kids who should never have been vaccinated are now starting to have heart valve problems at too young of an age for naturally occurring heart valve issues.
Just in full disclosure to any one that thinks I'm anti-vax.
But I won't go near a mNRA shot since the Covid experience, and a lot of research into that science since.
Same here, never in my long life have I got ANY disease I was vaccinated against, even after 60+ years. A vast majority of those that took the shots still got COVID multiple times.

It changed me. I became more of a smart-alex than ever before. Being in the medical filed, I know that surgical masks do not stop viruses. They are far to small. Plus, WTH? People eating and drinking right beside one another without masks in eateries and very crowded areas, like airports.
So...I found myself (in a disgustingly blue town) walking through stores with my mask above my mouth and a hole cut out for my nose. I got some enormous stink-eye from the Karens.

FYI in general, to all : Not only RAISE YOUR VOICE (the squeaky wheel gets the grease), see what you can do about it when problems arise that you don't like! Otherwise you won't be happy about the situation. Don't expect others to do it for you. After all, gun owners/shooters are a DO IT YOURSELF BUNCH, right?

Wearin mask was rough, you had to smell yer own breath, was almost like....
