How long should it take?

I ordered a AR upper from a guy on Gunbroker a week ago. It wasnt anything custom or anything that had to be assembled. I paid immediately with a credit card. It hasnt shipped yet. He didnt respond to my emails, so I sent a text and again no response. I called and got a voice mail, so I left a polite message.

This morning I got an email saying that "do to the pressures of the industry" items would take 7 to 10 days to be shipped. Thats NOT shipping time but 7-10 days to get from his shop to the Post Office.

Im sorta scratching my head. Im not sure what "pressures of the industry" is supposed to mean; this isnt COVID anymore? It sure seems like "Ive got your money and Im too Lazy" to drive to the Post Office.

I checked his reviews and hes a A+ with only one guy saying "No communication and Slow shipper"

How long should it take to seal a box, print a lable and take it to the Post Office?

It shouldn't take 7-10 days unless you were told of that going in. Guaranteed the seller wouldn't have been good with waiting 7-10 days for payment.

I'd file a complaint with GunBroker before going the credit card dispute route. There may be a valid reason for the delay, but the seller needs to explain to the platform they are selling on. I wouldn't be good with a generic "business delay". If it's an individual who unexpectedly found themself or their spouse in the hospital (or something akin to this) then I would be understanding.

Whatever you do, make sure to note the seller's attitude and lack of involvement when you post feedback. You're not trying to ruin the reputation but others deserve to know of your experience.

I admit Im an impatient type when it comes to placing orders and Amazon has made me worse; but having my $$$ for a week before getting an off the shelf item to the post office is excessive by any standards; especially with no comms.

I chose him because of price; but the few dollars I saved arent worth the aggravation.

I have no idea. I buy all of my lowers from my local gunshop. Do I spend too much? Heck yes, about 20-30 bucks! You know why? Because I go into my local gunshop once a week. I try on guns I will never buy, and talk with friends that are also there. You think that is free? Come on, you cheap bastards. Pay a little to keep the shop open!!!! If you are not ashamed, your mother is. She didn't bring you up to be the guy that closed a local business. But that is what you are doing. What is it worth to go to a gunshop and hang out? If it is not a box or two of full retail ammo or a gun without trying to beg down a lower price....you are guilty of shutting down local shops. So Shut Up and bucks more, you #&(&$$ Jerk. They count on you and you turn your back on them. If you are not ashamed you should be. I can tell you this for certain...if you are not ashamed, your mother is spinning in her grave.

If I spent another 4 years in college (studying English and grammar) I could not express my 2 cents any better. Kudos to you Mr. Winchester67 !! You get what you pay for, nothing more nothing less
Independent guns shop owners provide many services that you will never find in a big box sporting good store.

Stuff happens. I bought a gun on GB once from a shop in Florida. They had a hurricane before it shipped. It took a while, but I did get it.
How long has it been since you made the purchase? If less than 10 days, just be patient.
If it hasn't shipped by then, contact the seller again and tell him that if he doesn't comply, you will dispute the charges. If he still doesn't get it out, call the credit card company.
