HUGE social security raise....????

Old_Me

Emissary
like for crying out loud......3.6%

i was watching the news just last night, where the gas/electric utility company has been shutting off peoples utilities since before this past summer.

can't pay their bills, rents, food, and other bills.........so power company basically "cuts you off"

we have a law here, and maybe in other states as well...."no utility shut off's during the winter months"...or words to that effect....

thing is..??

SS "gives you" a raise., but also RAISE's the Medicare they take outta that.......!!!!!

The Social Security Administration has officially announced a 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) for 2027. Driven by a recent spike in inflation, this increase will boost the average monthly retirement benefit by about $75 starting in January. [1, 2]

Then Medicare will raise there insurance……so you might clear a few bucks after that……

Well 3.6% will average around $75.00. Medicare Part b is going up $6.60 so it is still a net increase
i will not hold my breath on that much ($75.00).......my state as well as a few others...TAX US on our SS....!!!!!!!

the out-going goobener was going to stop it..

the 3 running in Nov, 2 men said they will remove the taxes.

the female said..."not right away, I have to see the state of the state first, before i do anything"......

obviously...shes a "bluie"

i am voting for the Independent, he's more REAL than the RINO running

I’m in my mid 50s and convinced I’ll never see it.
If SS is so great make it optional; I’m certain I could have outperformed it with my contributions.
😒

Wait a second there, young fella! At 81, I need your contribution to pay for my beer and stuff! You owe us…( sarcasm). In honesty, most funds are better in the long run than SS for your future. But the government needs your contributions never the less.

I've been hearing people say that social security won't be around since the 1980's and yet here we are 40 years later and it's still viable. If you're in your mid 50s then you don't have that many more years to go until your 62 and can start drawing it.

I hope so but doubtful. Now address making it optional. My brokerage account has run circles around what my contributions/ projected benefits.
