Illinois Set to Tighten the Screws on Gun Owners on January 1

well here in RI, we have to keep out guns locked up as well.

i store mine in a metal tool cabinet, with the factory locks.

hey you know what..??

once someone gets into our home, garage, workshop, where ever, whatever, they got time to do damage and get those guns...and NO...not everyone can afford a safe that weighs like 1,000 pounds, or has a place to put one.

in fact, if i were to get such a huge gun safe, i can assure you that this neighborhood... has "roving walking eyes", and that would be as bad as pro-gun stickers, or NRA stickers, or a Glock sticker on the window of my car........its called advertising.

Wonder if the proponents of this are using the tired and trite "if it saves one life" argument. Naturally, if having access to a firearm might save a life they will ignore that rationale.

Am I missing something? Why do asinine laws like this presume that gun owners are overwhelmingly irresponsible? Or do they believe that only a nanny state can force responsibility on the irresponsible minority of gun owners?

Maybe I missed seeing where a pause button was added in real life (kinda like the easy button in the commercials). I guess you hit the pause when you face a threat to give yourself time to unlock your gun and ammo safes, load your gun and then hit the resume button?

IT's behind the door of my house. Lock door or not. If you're not supposed to be there stay the bleep out. I know this is a far out in right field idea, how about placing and keeping ALL the responsibility for criminal activity on the criminal? Claiming a homeowner is partially at fault because he didn't do XYZ to keep his/her guns from being stolen is like blaming a rape victim with "she was asking for it.
IT DOSEN'T TAKE A BLEEPING VILLAGE AND, YES I DID BUILD THAT!
