Indoor Gun Range Fees

Hi,

For 10 years we have had a family membership($350/year) at “P****** Outdoors” , an outdoor range in the country.
I never go on weekends usually in the middle of the week and usually right at opening.
My last visit was at 9am on a Tuesday morning , 10 lanes and I was the Only person out there. At 11:15 am The owner approached me and says “ just so you know we have a 2 hour limit”
I politely said ok and gathered my things and left.
Not a soul was there when I arrived , during my visit and when I left.
They have it written on website and in range rules that members should not go more than 2 times/week.
I am the guy that always leaves the place better than I found it, I never rapid fire, mag dump, ever. I don’t shoot ar/ak pistols nor do I use frts or binary triggers.
I never go over the 2 times/week rule and never go on a Saturday or Sunday. Long story short I am NOT renewing in the spring. Basically limited to 4 hours a week and Every single time I go he has something negative to say. Never a thank you for tidying things up , or thank you for your patronage. He *cough**Randy**cough is the you’re always doing something wrong type. Nah. There is an indoor range opening in spring nearby with 750 membership fees.
I’ll pay double to be in climate control elsewhere.

It's a shame when folks don't know which side their bread is buttered on.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Agree.
AR folks with brakes or SBR’s need to go find an outdoor.
Total D bag move. Especially when they rapid fire
There’s been a couple times when I’ve had my shorty AR at the range and the guy next to me has been shooting fireballs and I just reach forward, take off suppressor and return the favor with my 10.5 SBR.

What was the rifle that you, me and my sister were shooting that felt like your heart skipped a beat when you pulled the trigger. Was it the SCAR? I remember us laughing our asses off!

Range USA near me is $24.00 per hour. $12 for second shooter on a lane.

Memberships start at $29.99 / month with unlimited (mostly) weekdays. (if there is a waitlist you are limited to 2 hours.)

$49.99 / month for unlimited weekdays and weekends (if there is a waitlist you are limited to 2 hours.)
I grandfathered in at their old rate of $39.99 for the middle package, unlimited and free guest.
If I shoot twice a month (which, I certainly do) and 80% of the time, I have a guest.. it more than pays for itself.

Also can rent any firearm there for free. And they relaxed their “must buy ammo from us” rule as well.
Not a huge fan of indoors…but living in the city… can’t always just go for an hour plus drive to find outdoors…

Wow,
Never heard a range limit how many times you can go

I know some places do time limits. For some reason the only time I flipped out was at a range USA. Normally the ones I go to let you go a little longer if no one else is there. I honestly like the one I started because during the week it’s unlimited to members.

I have an annual membership at my local indoor range. We have a 15 yard indoor pistol range and a 25 yard indoor pistol/rifle range. As you can imagine, the rifle side does not care much for the pistol side. They are currently upgrading ventilation and esthetic areas of the pistol range.Us pistol guys are having to shoot with the rifle guys, I went to the rifle side once but decided that is not my kinda people. 16" and beyond barrel length with lpvo thinking they are "deadeye" shooter(25 yard range). LoL. Bark vs Bite is a thing.

$230 annually for outdoor and the indoor doesn't charge me for the 5-10 times I shoot there
If you don't mind southtex, could you tell me where this range is at? I literally found out last night that my favorite range is being sold. The owner is retiring, but supposably the gun store and range is being taken over by a couple of employees. That would be great if that happens, but it may also temporarily shut down my go-to range for a while. I'm not crazy about the few other local options. You wouldn't be close to Corpus Christi, by chance?

Where I go, it's $30/hr, +$15 for guests (3 max to a lane). I have a VIP membership there, so It's free for me 24/7/365 and I can bring a guest for free and free gun rentals. Was just here this morning @ 3am (Yeah I don't sleep much, up by 1am every morning no matter what time I go to bed). Have the whole place to myself that early. 😁

I am new to shooting indoors, anyway real soon. In your all's areas what is the cost for shooting on the range per person??? For ladies night its $30.00 but for members of said gun range $45.00 and non members $75.00, is this average in your areas too, or is this high in comparison??? Please advise....
Those numbers are a little on the high side but not unheard of. Many indoor ranges charge around 20 to 35 dollars for walk ins and 10 to 25 dollars for members depending on the city. Bigger metro areas and newer facilities tend to cost more because of staffing and ventilation systems. Special nights like ladies night usually sit below the standard rate to bring people in. Checking a couple of nearby ranges gives you a quick sense of what is normal for your area.

That's it. If you like the place, that is number one.. I have 2 memberships, the one I can do anytime I want (It's a little drive for me down to the cape 'Cape Gun Works', awesome place) and a local gun range, which has both In-doors and and out-doors setup (Pistol range [In-doors and out], Rifle range, 200 yard Rifle range, Skeet, Bow, black power, and IDPA) which I'm looking into and that would be fun (Old Colony in Pembroke).

Yeah I go shooting 2 - 4 times a week.. Wish ammo was cheaper :).
