International Fee

I placed an order for some WW2 repro gear. I suspected the source was China; but they did a good job of hiding it. My only clue was the "CONTACT" info was by email only, no location listed. Its a company name I recognized from eBay; but this time I ordered direct from the "store". When I placed the order, the shipping rate seemed high; but I wanted the stuff. I paid with PayPal. Today I saw a second charge from PayPal for $4.77 listed as "International Fee". Im guessing thats a money conversion fee?

It sounds to me like it’s a fee to cover international postage and customs stuff. Just a guess.

Sounds like to me the $4.77 is a test on the paypal account to see if it works, then scam you for a much larger amount

The only place I would order WWII gear is from At the Front. The gear is thoroughly researched and reproduced according to the original contract. They are true reproductions, not a replicas. Save yourself some grief by not ordering from overseas.

My re-enacting days are over I started back when we were wearing ORIGINAL WW2 uniforms. The serious guys usually had two sets, one nice for garrison and the other full of repairs for field use. Imagine that today, running around with an original tunic or Dennison smock, knowing it was gonna get ripped. Back then originals were maybe $50, Id hate to price one today.

I still like to use some of the fun (no insignia) stuff. I keep a Luftwaffe bread bag and canteen around for hikes. The FG42 is one of my fantasy guns. I did get to handle a type One and Two, (handle; but not shoot). I can only imagine how cool that must have been back in the day. The FG42 bandoliers work well with 308 mags

I use At The Front for the few things I still I want; but they dont list the FG42 bandoliers. They work great as a "grab and go" rig for 308 mags...and it feels kinda cool with my G3K klone. Back in my REAL Army days I took two M203 grenade bandoliers and tied them together like a FG bandolier before I "found" a vest
