Irony pictured

There is a road called Storrow drive in Boston that has a low bridge. It's more than clearly marked no trucks Every year with the new students coming in someone gets stuck under the bridge with a truck. The locals say "they have been storrowed". They were selling toy trucks stuck under a bridge recently.
yup...happened a few days, maybe a week or two ago....

i had to use that tunnel nightly, (Ted Williams) to get out of town (Chinatown and Southie) and get on over to Wilmington, and there would be signs posted, "NO TRUCKS".......

I don't know how hitting a bridge can even happen? How can you not know how high your truck is? Its simple 14ft high 13ft bridge not gonna fit if you can't compute that shouldn't be driving, last thing used to do after checks and hooking up is check the height it's your truck and trailer and your responsibility.
As for transporting liquid whole different bag of cats you think you have stopped in a hurry till the liquid hits the front of the tank and shoves you feet down the road not a nice feeling

Staring down at their phone is my guess.

Look how many folks cant even get around a city without staring at google maps on their phone while they drive

Just speculating, but the demand for truck drivers over the last few years has gone up dramatically. As such I think there are a lot of commercial truck drivers on the road with minimal experience/training. All of the increasing automation, navigational aids, phones, etc isn't helping. Heck, some of them even have laptops mounted next to the driver's seat. I've seen some truly scary examples lately of 18-wheelers swerving all over the place on the interstate because the driver isn't paying attention.

the "typical" height is 13' 6"...

this does not include over-sized loads, which in some states require an escort service. this also does not include say a defective air bag system, which raises the height a few inches.

this also does not include the mounted height of the 5th wheel, or tire sizes.

it IS up to the driver to KNOW his or her equipment

the so-called "demand" for truckers is as old as me.......70+ years. so not the last few years.

everyone "thinks" that since they can drive mommy's mini van around the block, he "likes to drive" and wants to be a trucker.

no, driving a truck is NOT rocket science, but some sort of at least "average IQ" would help.

when someone is "pioletting" an 80,000 + missile on the roads, you'd expect that person to be a professional, not a schmuck, drug addict, drunk, ex-felon.

many trucking companies just want "seat-meat" and will hire such people, and deal with the death, destruction, mayhem later....as long as the load gets there......

i couldn;t be any happier i retired, and i pretty much NEVER recommend anyone to get into it.

too many hours, rules, restrictions, inconvenient life style, expenses, parking shortages, road rage, aggressive driving......all for what..???

put in at least 70 hours a week, (but you get paid by the mile), and actually you might be working well over 80 hours a week, and you cannot log that time legally, what kind of paycheck do you end up with...??

nearly under the $15.00 per hour, minium wage............NO :poop:

Yes Sir driving for 20 years had to pack in last year, left eye went blurred thankfully while parked up,bent down to pick something up,Hospital said we advise to stop driving fair enough.Yes I miss driving but not everything that goes with it,this rule that rule do this drive this long can't do that but get a call "just get the load there don't worry" until you get pulled over then work say you know the rules sorry don't need you anymore.

More irony

Only thing worse than liquid in a baffled tank is swinging meat. Now there's something that'll get your heart started in a hurry!!! On turns even more than stopping! :)

maybe then, the feds ought to kick out all on the reservation too.......since she is anti-police and "protection" that affords when when a crime of some sort takes place. aren't the residents on a reservation "protected"..??
What reservation are you talking about ?

she was born in India............................

she was born in India............................
oh, all i saw on the "quick search" was she was and Indian-American........

many times, when someone is from the "country" India, they are described as "Hindu" or "Hindi"....that differentiates the "Indian" from American to India.....

then she can go back to her country, and take her anti policing thoughts with her. (gee i wonder how that would go and work out over in India..??)

as i see it, "if one is against the police and want to defund them or 're-imagine them", then they should not complain if the response to help them, is either slow or non-existent, cuz they are out there helping us REAL supportive Americans.

same as a "non-voter"..

if you do not vote, then you have NO RIGHT to complain, so STHU...!!!!!!!

So you think American Indians aren’t “Real” Americans ? My Cherokee and Lakota relatives disagree. I could write a thesis on the subject, believe that, but instead I’ll just say before you start dissing native Americans on reservations you should remember who put them there.

Exactly, a very dark stain on American history.
