Hello all, here is today's article posted on TheArmoryLife.com. It is titled “Is the 1911 the 'Stick Shift' of EDC?” and can be found at https://www.thearmorylife.com/is-the-1911-the-stick-shift-of-edc/.

A 2011 is a Bentley, a 1911 is a Ford F100 that is still rolling along the road today, completely reliable because it’s too simple to break down. No, the 1911 is a Bentley in a world of plastic Hyundai’s
Sorry to hear about your finger "Doc". I am assuming you were a "Field Corpsman", so thanks for the lives you saved. I know "Your Marines" thank you too!I humbly agree with what you've said. I do not carry a 1911 for a very specific reason. While I truly like the 1911 I have difficulty shooting it. I lost my right trigger finger while in service. I now use my middle finger for trigger work. Because of hand position I occasionally fail to operate the grip safety correctly. I'm not willing to risk my life on it. The weapon is fine, my hand position not so much. Thanks for what you do Sir.
While I don’t have all the .45’s that you have I do still have a 2005 350Z that is all Nismo’d out. She can spin those 275 Michelins all day longIS THE 1911 THE “STICK SHIFT” OF EDC?
Hell yes! And going back through cars I’ve bought over my lifetime, I’d have selected a manual in most of them given the option at the time I bought them. My (now moved on) 2014 Nissan 370Z was the last manual transmission I’ve owned.
I do have a SA Emissary, a SA TRP in Coyote Brown, and an EB Kobra Carry in stainless…all .45 and all 4.25. I do occasionally carry the TRP. Emissary is too heavy and EB is a 25th Anniversary Edition that I didn’t acquire to carry.
Far as I’m concerned, true car aficionados will have driven a stick sometime in their lifetimes and true handgun aficionados will have at least run a few magazines through a 1911. There is so much more to driving than getting from point A to point B and so much more to shooting than EDC.
