Throughout a long career as an LEO and trainer, military, hunter, and all around gun enthusiast. I have owned, carried, used, and learned to maintain a plethora of different firearms. And I cannot count the number of holsters and accessories I have used.
But I think I have winnowed down the dizzying array of possibilities to what suits me. A Krieghoff skeet gun, a Browning ultra light Citori bird gun, a Browning BAR Safari II 7mm mag big game rifle for sport. For serious business, my EDC is a SA1911 TRP CC 45acp with weapon light and optic, a SIG 516 with weapon light and ACOG, a Remington 870 Marine Magnum with weapon light and night sights, and finally a CMMG Banshee in 45acp with optic and weapon light. (If possible this would be an MP5). My thinking is, if I were to go out again as a young officer or agent hunting miscreants, I would be comfortable having these options. Of course there are interchangeable alternatives in the vault that I could pick up and use with confidence, but those mentioned above are the lineup it has boiled down to. So even though it has taken more than 50 years, finally my quest for armament is complete.
Until of course something new catches my eye.....
