US Capital Police dabbled with them. If they still use them not sure.

US Secret Service dumped the 5.7 and P90 as well as others have in short order and that should tell you everythjng you need to know.

Unless one is into novelty stuff

As far as HK. (And I didn’t watch the video ) I don’t see HK Rampling production up in Georgia and making them here in the US when the MP5 (SP5) had a way bigger demand than an MP7
 
Is your interest because it sounds like a fun gun? Are you an HK collector? Do you envision so self defense use for it?

Im impressed with the round; but some others disagree. I have no experience with 4.6, other than having held a MP7 at a show for LEO/Military.
 
From a reloader's standpoint it can be improved upon and have more versatility. Take today's 40s&w and 10mm factory offerings, most 10's seems to be at or a hair better than the 40's. With both the 4.6 and 5.7 using the same weight bullet the 4.6 will be slower due to more bearing surface (typically). Reloading for both makes them probably equal as the 4.6 has a higher max psi by 8k iirc (58k vs 50k roughly). Testing with unequal barrel lengths is a disadvantage to the 4.6, but the higher psi (if it's even close to max) will help so. I have some 4.6 on the way with 40gr and 38's. I also have a 5.7 w/8" barrel to more equally test. Both are from cmmg. I haven't checked case capacities differences, but the vase (not rims) are close to the same, but that's about where both are the same. 5.7 cartridge is longer which gives the advantage back to it. It comes down to dealer's choice. Germany made their's by standing with what they produced and the rest went the other direction.
 
YMMV but it seems to me that the real advantage of 4.6 and 5.7 is penetration through soft and hard barriers and from relatively short barrels. That being said I know a guy who hunts Deer with a PS90 on his property in WV.

Im hopeful 4.6 will become more available in guns actually designed for it. The FN FiveSeveN pistol is large to carry but very lightweight. HK prototyped a USP size pistol for 4.6 but it never went into production

While i did see what hk might have made a pistol in 4.6 I couldn't confirm. I want to say UPC or USC .. something like that as it's HAVE slept 3 times since last night. Our resident hk member is no longer on this forum (Hans). I've been banned/kicked off 3 times, but he got the perm ban :mad: :mad: :mad:

That was me he lost his s&$t over I use to say God gave me a voice that matched my face and people hear my tone or look at my face and think I am mad or something…..I guess they read my typing and that pushes buttons too! IdK

i was close, it was UCP (Universal Combat Pistol), not UPC. 5.1" barrel w/20 round mag and hk didn't finish with development on that pistol
