Knees to the breeze Whos jumped

I spent four years in the AF, all at the same base with some side trips to a few missile sites. The only time the AF put me in the air was when the C.O. asked if I wanted a chopper ride back to base (90 mi.). Exciting for me. So, no I never jumped nor have I ever wanted to. However, my son joined the Army (20 yrs. and was in an EOD unit that did jump). Once a 2nd. Lt. erred and my son ended up with a black eye. When called into the C.O.'s office, he just said the bruise was a new camo disguise he was trying out. Always the tuff guy! After he got out he got a job with a company training others how to BLOW THINGS UP! My son also broke his ankle on another jump. $$$ Disability for that one.

No military.
Tandem and tandem paragliding off the Tetons.
😊
Edit:
Jumped the Tetons every time in WY..we could do rolls and cuban 8’s in the paraglide. Good times 😁

Has anyone flown an ultralight? I was talking smack at work once saying I was gonna get one to cut an hour each way off my daily commute. Our VP was a retired Naval Aviator. He heard through the grapevine that I was going to get an ultralight. He called me into his office and told me all of the dangers and practically disallowed me to get one. Talk about a wire brushing. I miss that man......

Hi,

I did not jump while in the Air Force. As a civilian I did a tandem jump on a dare. I was hooked. For the next five years I was at the DZ almost every weekend. I got in a little over 600 jumps before my youngest came along and Mrs. BassCliff talked me into keeping both feet on the ground. I don't have a lot of pictures digitized. I've got my logbook around here somewhere and a VHS tape of a bunch of my jumps. I think a 20-way was my largest. I used to do a lot of 4-way relative work.

Here's a few of me jumping with my younger brother and his wife in Eloy AZ. I'm in the dark blue, brother in light blue, his wife in red.

Now that the kids are all grown....nah. It sure was fun. I was an adrenaline junkie.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Nope tandem doesnt count, youre just along for the ride, kinda like a roller coaster (not sure if that applies to para gliding).

Ive always been envious of the Ultralite guys and now the guys who are making the "hover cycles" and maybe the wing suit crazies....

Tandem is better than sitting on the ground…😁🧐😏

Does engine out while airborne and wishing you had a chute count? Put a plane down on a dirt road w no engine turning 😬🤬🤬🤬

Watched 82nd jump from a C-130 a few times when I was along for the ride. Jumped from the mock tower at Bragg a couple times when down there but mainly jumped into The Dragon Club on post not far from "Iron Mike". Fast roped and repelled but I was a "Leg". Still had to sing "Airborne, airborne all the way" during PT runs. That's as close as I got.

DOes falling off 20ft highroof count? CLosest thing to sky diving I''ve ever done and scared me for life.Acouple o seconds of terror not certain wha the landing was going to feel like, then I found out. Mortals Can' fight gravity.
