Again weigh your can new and after a lot of shooting. It builds up, center fire, PCC, etc. It all builds up on the baffles.

I've read that it's more about the intent of use of pistols/SBR's that a brace is to be used against your forearm, you might even use a strap and wrap it to your arm for lateral support. The brace isn't to be used as a buttstock planted in your shoulder like a rifle as that shows the intent to use it as an SBR.That’s the one I’d get if I got one. I’m not trying to debate, just asking if anyone has an opinion on the legality of having it on a brace.
IMO, having a check riser means you'll burry the brace in your shoulder in order to place your check on the riser for a firing position, clearly the intent then is to fire it as ab SBR.
Who cares? The ATF, most other LEO's across all agencies seem pretty lax on gun law enforcement and leave that to the ATF. I'd bet there are LEOs in my area who don't even know anything about SBRs and pistols with braces, and since they can be held civilly liable up to $50,000.00 for getting involved in gun issues (that are not used in criminal activities) they aren't going to look at me. So, I think it's only the ATF Agent hiding behind the tree that is likely to enforce the matter.
Now, I have shot mine both ways, my intent however is to have my pistol ready and available for (1.) range fun, and (2.) home security.

Personally, I don't see the reason for the hype, the thing is wholey proprietary, gun parts, magazines...........
Other than the Springfield name, what is there to fall back on?
I say this as the owner of a 9mm Saint, and a 20 inch Hellion. Neither of which Springfield offers ANY kind of spare part support.........
I own two pretty long guns i don't have manufacturer support for.........
And as much as I like them, they're NEVER going to be my GO-TO for anything, due to the pronounced LACK of manufacturer support

Just bought Obsidian 9 today, hopefully quick approval on Form 4 like others. I got a reasonably price ultrasonic off amazon for baffle cleaning. I hadn’t cleaned my Obsidian 45 in a while and even after 25 minutes i still had to use some picks and a fair amount of breakthrough carbon pro.I’ve got a Tri Lug and Obsidian 9. It’s a great combo.
I’ve got about 300 rounds through it since the last cleaning, the old fashioned way…
I’m gonna get about 500 or so more through it and give the breakthrough solution a shot… love shooting it, but man, cleaning baffles suck
I’m planning on letting the whole can soak in breakthrough overnight when it’s ready…
I don’t know if 25 minutes is enough soak.

Not sure the why or if it’s bologna but the ultrasonic recommended not going more than 25 straight. Something about potential damage due the process by which and ultrasonic cleaner works. Recommended running multiple shorter cycles with cool off period and I was being cautious. Used purple power and water with temp 160f.
Should be good to soak in breakthrough through.

My harbor freight ultra sonic don't do much.... And I agree way too much time spent with a blade and pick to clean. Hoping a long soak will yield better results! I did anti seize all threaded portions of my Rugged. I also bought rubber strap wrenches in case....

If you reach out or search a little, most use CLR to soak it for 48 hours, don't let it touch the threads, you will need to plug the whole with a plastic cork. Depending on the make of the can, meaning material used, you have to use certain cleaning solutions. Soak it for 48 hours and then rinse it really good. That's what TBAC does, who make the best cans

Debatable on best can. Just because competition shooters use it doesn’t make it best for all applications
I just cleaned the body normally without soak since it was relatively clean. Just the baffles needed the extra soaking
I've read that too.
Breakthrough is safe for all metals and is reusable if you filter the old fluid back into the bottle.

Breakthrough works better than anything you can buy, soak it overnight and you'll be amazed on how much it removes and makes what's there easier to remove. only problem with it is the price. it ain't cheap but it can be used several times. i do use an ultrasonic sometimes but i stopped cleaning them much anymore. i don't use them much either but that's just me.
If I can cut down time spent with a metal pick/razor blade scraping carbon, I’ll be happy. But I only have a few hundred rounds through a fresh cleaning, so I think I’m going to wait until I’m at/near 1K round count, then let it soak overnight in some breakthrough…just to see. Appreciate the thoughts.

I'm kinda OCD when it comes to cleaning guns and the cans, but i don't clean them like i used to. i know a couple guys that have thousands of rounds on their suppressors and never been cleaned. now they do clean the 22 cans but after a lot of shooting. i seen one after many rounds they had tore down and it was pretty bad with the lead deposits. i can also tell you to NEVER shoot that wolf or any of that russian 223 ammo with the lead or lead colored bullets through one. the lead buildup is horrible after just a few rounds. that round get so hot it melts the lead onto the inside and if you can't take it apart it's just gonna be there. i like to never got that stuff out of a 5.56 can.
