Leaving a Position of Safety

" Never leave a place of safety for a place of danger" unless your safe position is about to be over run and/or your place of safety is on fire! But all joking aside, another consideration to take into account is how liberal is the prosecutor in the location in question. In some areas of the country a person who defends his or her life or that of another will be put through the ringer if the local prosecutor is anti-gun. Unless the self-defense defense in pretty airtight they'll try to make an example of you. Win the battle or lose the war are the outcomes that one may face.

I think the conclusion from the article is that lawyers are dirty rotten SOB's who love to use sophistry to manipulate juries into believing the good guys are the bad guys. In the first two incidents described, the defenders made serious errors, but they weren't deliberate acts of murder. They were just scared people trying to deal with a situation thrust upon them. Lesser charges would seem appropriate. In the third incident, the "victim" was an active shooter stopped by a man trying to protect himself and his cousin. But the prosecutor sure showed him.

Lesson: In the most stressful, chaotic, dangerous and dynamic moment in your life, you may be held to a standard of perfection by jerks who weren't there and have never faced anything like it. Prepare yourself. Learn the lessons offered by the other poor souls who came before you.
I always say, stay out of the "Justice" system at all costs if you can.
"Justice", in todays courts, with todays players, is more a matter of coincidence than design. (Read $$).
Precedent, motions, emotions, interpretations, professional standing, etc. is what the courts move on, not necessarily who is right and who is wrong.
Every incident is too fluid and varied to put a response in concrete.
Yes, and when it is your Loved one at risk, a methodical discipline is required.
The "pros" botch it sometimes too.
The average armed citizen can not train for everything, only reach proficiency with the weapon and his nerves.
That's enough for now.
