Weelllll, it depends on how I feel that day. Mainly it's a 1911 in .45 sometimes one these.

I started 2026 carrying my Echelon 4.0c Comp - which I love - but some kind folks on here pointed out if I ever had to shoot from retention, the outcome may not be pleasant for me.

Fair point. So lately, it's been my Walther PDP F-series 3.5" (which is in some aspects a little harder to conceal than the Echelon. If I really need something smaller, I revert to my long-time EDC, an XD Mod.2 subcompact.

But to someone's point above, I've learned - to my surprise - I generally can carry more gun than I thought. For one reason, a good holster helps lay that Walther flat against my side. For another, most people will never notice me printing a little anyway.

People probably notice me printing all the time. I’m heavy. I got a pepper gel on my belt, a phone case on my belt. I got a gun tucked in my waistband and one in my offhand pocket. The guns print less than the stuff on my belt.

Most people don't notice. I didn't used to think that was true until one day I noticed that I didn't notice. And I thought I was pretty observant.

I walked into my range one afternoon. There were a couple of guys I knew behind the counter. We chatted for a bit while I procured a lane. One guy referenced the other guy when he said, "All the girls are wondering about him today." I looked at the other guy and just then noticed he had a 33 round magazine in his Glock under his shirt. I was really embarrassed (on the inside) because I hadn't noticed it right away. I try to be more observant, but I still think most people are not all that observant.

I thought I was pretty observant. sometimes I’ll just blatantly watch people and try to see if I could spot anything. I can’t remember the last time I even thought I saw another guy was carrying. On the other hand all I need to see is some decent looking lady with revealing type of clothes and a guy could wheel a canon buy me and I would not notice.
