Maverick 88 tube extension?

Is there a mag tube extension that works for my little shotgun? Can 5 rounds become 7 rounds?

I don't think so because of how the barrel lug screws into the end of the mag tube. Where a remington the tube basically goes through the lug and can easily add an extension if stops are not in place.

Mossy 500 and Maverick 88 tubes are essentially the same.

Contact Mossberg to confirm.

Only way to add capacity is a longer mag tube, plus the barrel with the lug in the proper place for the longer tube.
Replace both your current tube and barrel.

Easier to use shorty shells.

Eight round capacity is what sold me on the Maverick 88 Special Purpose/Security model for home defense. Great shotgun for the price, IMO.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I've had no luck finding a tube extender for my Mav 88. I forgot to mention that I have the "combo" model with 18.5" for home defense and 28" for hunting. I thought I'd utilize the dual purpose. The security model (20") has the longer mag tube with 7+1. Maybe I'll just try to price the longer barrel and tube to screw on this receiver. Nah, I'll just get a whole new shotgun! Thanks for putting up with me.
