Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15: First Soviet Swept-Wing Fighter

The Driggs city airport in Teton Valley, Idaho is home to one of the few airworthy examples of the remaining MIG-15's. Summertime flights are occasional and rare winter flights happen when low wind or no wind bluebird skies prevail. The MIG is housed in the hangar/museum at the runway restaurant that until recently was called 'Warbirds' (now known as 'Forage').

Please allow me to correct my previous entry, as the MIG in Driggs, Idaho is privately owned and not housed in the museum at the airport. I believe it must be stored in a private hangar. Sorry for the misinformation! It's still cool to see the MIG fly on occasion around the valley with the Teton, Big Hole and Snake River Ranges as background scenery!

It was a pretty cool looking plane and if one looks at some of the old Godzilla movies, it still is...well at least the models on wires... :giggle:
