My EDC, Pepper Spray 😲

Never tied that. Decades ago when I was a wanna be cop aka security guard, I use to carry pepper spray because it was more accurate than my Gen 1 S&W M&P.
Damn bro, you hit all the buzzwords.

Yea, that's the S&W Gen 1 that had accuracy issues as well as frame flex. I believe the superior M&P 2.0 addressed those and other issues. It used to be a popular and regularly issued L.E. pistol, but unfortunately they drop them and and moved away from S&W before the 2.0 came out

Old picture of my M&P 2.0 that I've had for going on 8 years now.

I think but not sure. I just searched the same profile name that you're using here. Last post around 3 years ago. Is that you or someone else? Good post if that is you. I'm glad you're okay.

Anyway back to the topic of EDCing pepper spray!

When I worked for G4S they issued me saber red pepper gel. I really wasn't impressed. I won't say it didn't affect me but it took an awful long time before it did.
Now I carry Sabre Red SPRAY.
I didn't know a gel version existed until this thread. Glad I purchased the spray and not the gel if you're experience is the norm. I started to doubt myself based on others here prefering the gel.

Not with the right concentration. Buy the strong mixed solution, not the weak stuff
I seen a guy take a full can Of fox to the face like it was water. I'm talkin the stuff you need a l8cense for too. I 100% support less lethal carry always though. I f8nd both fox and Sabre to be good. You gotta use the proper spray 8fnu carry a taser though

I worked as a security guard for 15 years, I never ever ever had to use my gun.

Almost every time that I ran into somebody who was giving me a hard time or threatening me or cussing me out I just reached in my pocket and pulled out my OC and started shaking it up. I can't think of a single time that that didn't deescalate the situation almost immediately.

Actually, that's not true I can think of one time but that one time was a baby coyote who wasn't going to take no for an answer if I didn't feed him.

I say the same thing every time this topic comes up, it's almost like people don't believe that you'll really shoot them (assuming that drawing the gun at all was justified) but they do believe that you will pepper spray them.

After I left G4S I carried UDAP spray. I got exposed to that once and it didn't incapacitate me at all but to be fair it was blowback.

Now I carry Sabre Red SPRAY.

I believe if you're going to carry OC you should get exposed to it. Because if you spray somebody you're probably going to get exposed to it and you should know what to expect.

I'm also going to say, like I do every time, it's a violation of federal law to use bear spray in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. IOW it's illegal to spray bear spray on a human being.

I don't have the slightest idea if anybody's ever been prosecuted under that law but I do know the law exists.

some states don’t have a law/regulation on canister size or concentration of spray.
Just laws on the manner it can be used and where it is prohibited to carry.

I didn't say anything about canister size or concentration. I said there is a federal law prohibiting using OC spray specifically labeled as "Bear Spray" on a human being.

What type of OC spray do you need a license for? Please be specific and be prepared to show your work
